The tasting taught us so much about Raicilla/Mezcal/Tequila and was able to better understand and taste profiles. It’s a beautiful property and the drive out. Highly recommend.”

“What a wonderful and informative tour. We opted for the longer tour. Our guide gave a thorough and informative history of how chocolate came to be such a delicious dessert. We saw from start to finish how to make chocolate and even roasted the cocoa beans, ground them, added sugar and were able to shape, decorate and eat the chocolate we made.”

“This was a chocolate making class, not watching someone make it, and soo much fun. Rod was a great teacher. Started with a gnache. There were so many flavors to choose from it was hard to decide. We then made bon bons while we waited for the truffle shells to harden. You get to take home everything you make so we left with almost two dozen truffles and bon bons. The museum itself is cute too with lots of chocolate themed items. We'll definitely go back to try different flavors.”

“Good tour to see Uxmal and Kabah in one day. Both sites were beautiful and I highly recommend. The tour also included the Chocolate Museum at the end, which was Ok. I got to see spider monkeys, a leopard, and taste the Mayan hot chocolate at the museum. The tour guide did not seem very knowledgeable about the sites. He did walk us through the beginning of each, said very little about the architecture or history, and gave us time at the end to explore. Lunch at Halach Huinic was delicious.”

“Tour was very informative. We certainly learned a lot, but the movie room and chocolate making room were uncomfortably hot - need better air conditioning. Also, we were under the impression that we would be able to adjust flavors to our chocolate, but this wasn't the case and I couldn't keep the instructor from adding 3 scoops of cinnamon to my chocolate mix despite telling him I don't care for cinnamon. I ended up throwing away half of the chocolate I made because it tasted too much of cinnamon (big surprise)”

“We had a wonderful experience during our chocolate tasting. We were engaged during the entire experience and learned about the history of cacaos, tried the fruits during different phases of the process and enjoyed chocolate in different forms including hot chocolate. We even got a special treat at the end which was a toast with strawberries and a "Oaxacan" affogato. Our instructor was conversational and was available to answer questions.”

“Our guide and driver were great. We felt well looked after and it was hugely informative and fun. Very good value. The chocolate history was the weakest part, but still full of interesting information and artifacts and we certainly weren't expecting a mini-zoo there! Lunch was good, the obsidian store had a fascinating talk and samples of 4 liquors! Uxmal was as good as Chichen-itza if not better and Isamel was delightful. If you can, go, as you won't regret it!”
