Tulum is two different days. The walled Maya port sits on a cliff above the sea, opens at eight and is best done then; the beach road runs south of it. Both are here, 15 in total, with what each includes, how long you get at the ruins, and which add a cenote or the Akumal turtles on the way back.

“Tour was good, info before was bad. We were told we would be picked up at 7:50am on the day before we left at 5pm. At 9:10 pm we got a new email saying they would now pick us up at 7am. I didn't see the email till 3am that morning. I had to wake everybody early and get them up. Also they told us one price for the tickets, then changed the price days later and would not accept the prices quoted. Had to run around to find the money for the new price. Keep things consistent!!”

“You need to be able to swim and traverse the uneven paths. The ruins have many steps, some of it is ok for a scooter, but walking is involved. At the beach a boat will take you out to a destination and drop you off. A person SHOULD know how to swim even though life jackets are provided. You are not allowed to use fins/flippers. The swimming portion is a smaller group than other companies so you are able to enjoy seeing the turtles w/o fear of being kicked by others. The lunch is very good. It was fresh and delicious for our taste. Sophia and Edgar were excellent hosts.”

Tulum was great, Coba was even better (make sure you get a bike and ride immediately to the main attraction, Nohoch Mul, to have time to climb up the highest building at 42 meters!). You can check everything else out later. Completely worth the heaving deep breaths to get to the top. Make sure you bring enough cold water in reusable bottles!! Bring fans, hats, cooking towels, whatever you’ve got. Someone in our group got heat sickness. Totally not the tour’s fault, they did everything they could’ve. Just be prepared!! TLDR: Tour is wonderful! Sun is hot! BRING REUSABLE WATER BOTTLES!!!”

Our Tour Guide Raul took off as soon as the bus stopped at Talum. We really had to look around to see where he went.”
