“I really recommend this trip, particularly if you just do one way and stay in Palenque (easy to get buses on)! Its definitely long and windy but you get to see so so so much of the stunning Chiapas region in short span of time. The sights are all incredible - swims and then the ruins. I don't speak Spanish and was worried about having Spanish only driver, but I was totally fine, we worked it out easily. The driver is really just that, he isn't a guide, so can work out meet times etc. I really recommend getting the guide at the ruins. Its pricey but we split it…”

“This activity was amazing. We choose it as practical way to continue our trip from Palenque. Consider to wake up early and the time spent on the bus. Although it's a great chance to see a lot of small rural villages along the way. We had enough time to visit the places, only Palenque was a bit tight but doable. Our drive really made this activity exceptional. He was very kind, flexible, and really cared about the passengers, telling stories about Chiapas (in Spanish). I'd recommend it.”

“It’s a long day but worth it. For me the highlights were the wall paintings at Bonampak and seeing crocodiles on the boat trip. Breakfast was a welcome stop after the 5.30am start and pre-ordering the lunch (which was substantial, good value and delicious) is a great idea. We felt in good hands with our driver, Cesar.”

“Despite the very early pick-up (3:30am), a very nice trip with an excellent guide! What we did and what we recommend to do: enjoy the visits to Agua azúl, Misol-Ha and the archeological site of Palenque and then stay in Palenque. By doing so, you avoid the long trip back to San Cristobal de la Casa and you can visit some sites close to Palenque on the next day.”

“En raison du contexte politique, l’excursion a été modifiée : nous n’avons pas pu visiter le site de Yaxchilan, à la place de quoi nous avons visité la cité perdue de Lacanja et fait une excursion dans la forêt lacandone. Le site de Bonampak était très intéressant à visiter (même si généralement sous la pluie début fin octobre) et loin du tourisme de masse.”

“Trip included the promised sights, Palenque ruins and Roberto Barrios waterfalls. Both are well worth your time and money. The transport was confusing as we kept jumping from one van to another. There was no tour guide, but we paid the lady who rode the van with us 400 pesos each for a guided tour and she was pretty well informed. Overall we would do it again. Nola Lara”
